Volunteers are a member of the Cloud IT Services Helpdesk Team at Nova Labs. Helpdesk Agents help with member accounts, on/off-boarding, providing sysadmin technical support, and work with the IT Subcommittee and other leaders to provide technical support to processes. They are looking for volunteers who are comfortable with cloud applications and can dedicate about 3 hours per week.
Regular Duties Checklist:
- Provide technical assistance to users, which may include troubleshooting hardware or software issues,
- setting up computer systems, and maintaining computer networks
- help with member accounts,
- on/off-boarding,
- providing sysadmin technical support, and
- work with the IT Subcommittee and other leaders to provide technical support to processes.
Desired Skills
- Helpdesk agents are often the first point of contact for users facing IT-related problems. As such, they need to have excellent communication skills, patience, and the ability to explain complex technical concepts in layman's terms.
- Experience with cloud applications and can dedicate about 3 hours per week.
- Resources that helpdesk agents might need include access to comprehensive and up-to-date technical manuals, diagnostic tools, and training on new software or hardware being used within the organization. Regular workshops and seminars on emerging technology trends can also be beneficial for these professionals.
