Curriculum:
- Safety Equipment (fire extinguisher, ear protection dispenser, first aid boxes, water)
- PPE (clothing types, eye protection, ear protection, glove usage)
- Dangers of black metal & how to test for heat
- Oven placement (12” or more from walls or other furniture when firing)
- Try to position it away from anything especially flammable.
- Plug it into a 240-volt circuit with at least 30 amperes of current; all plugs in Nova Labs that fit the oven should be 30+ amps.
- Do not leave the oven unattended while it is firing.
- Do not reach into the oven without wearing heavy gloves.
- Do not attempt to remove hot metal without tongs; even welding gloves can burn.
- Do not place any objects on the floor of the oven; it is designed for hanging blades or other objects and the floor is very soft brick.
- When cooling the oven down, you can open the lid to accelerate the process, but post warning to passers-by.
