Charter

The purpose of the Events & Education subcommittee is to oversee the operation and policies related to the various classes and events that occur at Nova Labs.

Structure

The subcommittee will have at minimum three officers: a Chair, Vice Chair, and Secretary. If necessary, multiple officer positions may be held by one person. The committee may have as many additional members or officer positions as they choose.

Powers & Responsibilities

The Events & Education chair will supervise all Events Coordinators and Instructors of Nova Labs, Inc.

The Events & Education subcommittee will manage the new member orientation (currently GO: Green Orientation, new member orientation) classes.

The Events & Education subcommittee will oversee the scheduling of all classes and events hosted by Nova Labs. It is responsible for working with the Shops subcommittee to create a thorough catalog of classes.

The Events & Education subcommittee will oversee the scheduling of member meetings, which should be scheduled no less than four times annually.

The Events & Education subcommittee will facilitate the reservation of the spaces and tools, including but not limited to, making tools and spaces available for instruction, events, meetups, interest groups, and private member usage.

The Events & Education subcommittee will manage the reservations and fee collections for groups and meetups occurring on Nova Labs property.

The Events & Education subcommittee will identify, onboard, orient, oversee, and offboard instructors in the classes.

Policy Responsibilities

The Events & Education subcommittee will originate policy changes that relate to events, education, and classes at Nova Labs.

Budget

The Events & Education subcommittee will provide budget proposals for hosting social events and member meetings. The subcommittee may subdivide the budget proposals as necessary. The budget proposals will be submitted on a periodic basis as set forth by the Finance Committee.
