• PFAFFs - single thread (toggle for details)
• HAPPY - multi thread (toggle for details)
• Class is currently taught using the Hatch design software
• Other software packages exist like Inkscape's EMB package
• Additional support available via slack or emailing instructors & online tutorials
• Consider attending events like our EMB Happy Hour OR Makers Circle & Art Lab

How do I use this tool?

RSVP and Attend a training session. See our events portal / calendar for the next training session on this tool.

• Updates to your account list of sign-off tools will follow the class by a few days.
• Complete the Sewing Machines log book when using an EMB machine and to log problems. Please notify stewards in addition to logging any problems.
• What files are available: Use pre-set designs already loaded on the machines. Or Design or alter pre-existing files. Consider buying designs from a 3rd party.

Software

Embroidery is NOT a WYSIWYG (What You See is What You Get) process.

Complicated calculations are needed to adjust your design based on stitch density and fabric's property's. Because of this you will not get good results unless you are very aware of cause and effect of your choices of top stitches and underlays.

Our Sign-off classes and Digitizing design classes use licensing for the highest version of Wilcom's Hatch for hobbyists. Price ranges from $150-$1200.

Our Embroidery 101 covers the very basics of this program along with the Sign-Off to use both the Pfaff's & the Happy. We also have a more advanced Digitizing class that also features the Hatch software.

The advanced Digitizing class is not required for Sign-Off however you may wish to consider taking that class as well. Using the Hatch program will give you results that can be used with any embroidery machine that accepts external files.
